Maestrul Rimarilă

FOR MY FAMILY

by Maestrul Rimarilă

I have written of stars,
of lanterns and rain,
of journeys that ended
and started again.

I have written of dragons,
of rabbits and bears,
of children who tumble
down steps and down stairs.

I have written of queens,
of a fox dressed in white,
of a Lady who somehow
makes everything quite… dramatic.

(Some words refuse to rhyme.)

❤️

I have written of laughter,
of tears no one saw,
of paws holding paws
without asking what for.

Of doors left wide open,
of places kept warm,
of someone beside you
when there comes a storm.

And after the pages,
the ink and the years,
the stories, the nonsense,
the courage, the tears…

I think I have finally
found what is true:

A family is not
all the things that we do.

It is knowing that somewhere,
wherever you roam,
there are hearts that remember you.

There are arms that still know you.

There is always a light in the window.

And somebody saying:

Come Home.

❤️❤️❤️

So if one day our stories
grow quiet on the shelf,

and somebody asks me
which one I loved best…

I will not choose a chapter.

I will not choose a line.

I will simply say:

“The one where they were all mine.”

❤️

Back to the Family.

There are still so many verses to write.

Fortunately, they are all still here.
